Street Fighter 6 Crossing Over With Another Capcom Franchise

Highlights

  • Street Fighter 6 introduces a Mega Man-themed Fighting Pass with avatar gear, stickers, music, and more for players to enjoy.
  • Recent collaborations in Street Fighter 6 include Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Final Fight, and Spy X Family, adding unique content.
  • Fans speculate on possible crossovers with other Capcom franchises.

Capcom has revealed that a new Mega Man-themed Fighting Pass is going live in Street Fighter 6. The fighting game’s third DLC fighter, Ed, joined the roster last month, bringing with him balance changes to characters like Jamie, Ryu, Luke, and more. The Psycho-powered fighter was also added to Street Fighter 6‘s single player World Tour mode, where he can be found in a Metro City subway station at night.

Since its launch nine months ago, Street Fighter 6 has already hosted a handful of fun collaborations with other popular franchises. A summertime Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collab saw all four turtles added to the game as player avatar outfits. Street Fighter 6 also crossed paths with one of Capcom‘s lesser known beat-em-up franchises from the 90s, Final Fight. Another major crossover with the popular anime and manga Spy X Family came to Street Fighter 6 in December.

The latest Street Fighter 6 update adds Ed to the main roster while also balancing the core roster including big changes to characters like JP.

Now, Street Fighter 6 has unveiled another big crossover with games/”>one of Capcom’s most popular franchises, Mega Man. In a short trailer, Street Fighter revealed the all-new Fighting Pass and all its contents, including its crown jewel: a 5-piece Mega Man gear set wearable by players’ avatars. Next to the iconic blue Mega Man suit, the premium pass also includes a set of five stickers, three titles, three pieces of music, an emote, a device wallpaper, and a photo frame. Additionally, players can unlock the classic 1995 arcade game Mega Man: The Power Battle, playable in the Battle Hub.

Street Fighter 6 Mega Man Fighting Pass Items:

  • 5x Mega Man Avatar Gear
  • 5x Stickers
  • 3x Titles
  • 3x Music
  • Emote
  • Photo Frame
  • Device Wallpaper
  • Mega Man: The Power Battle Classic Arcade Game

On top of all this, the online Battle Hub area will be decked out in all-things Mega Man, with the iconic 2D jumping Mega Man sprite up in the rafters. Some Street Fighter 6 players expressed frustration at the fact that these avatar outfits are only wearable by player avatars and not by Street Fighter 6‘s roster characters like Ryu and Chun-Li. With the wide array of sizes and body types each character has, it would surely be difficult to get all the pieces of these gear sets to work with each character without clipping or causing visual issues. Perhaps specific colorways of the crossover character added to each character’s outfit would be a sufficient middle ground.

Seeing that Capcom is keen on bringing in crossovers to Street Fighter 6, especially with some of its own franchises, it’ll be interesting to see what it brings to its smash-hit fighting game next. The long awaited fantasy RPG Dragon’s Dogma 2 is Capcom’s next major release, coming later this month; perhaps its launch will coincide with a Street Fighter 6 Fighting Pass. Crossovers with the likes of Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, and Monster Hunter seem like no-brainers for Street Fighter 6 when more of those titles release in the future.
