The fine folks at Rotten Tomatoes have compiled an exhaustive list of the Horror-movies-of-all-time/” rel=”noreferrer noopener” target=”_blank” aria-label=”(opens in a new tab)”>top 200 Horror films of all time. The titles included are ranked according to their Tomato-meter score, total review count, audience approval rating, and a number of other criteria.

The film that claims the top spot should come as no surprise. It’s an epic sci-fi-infused Horror picture that is as terrifying today as it was upon release in 1979. The flick features a fierce lead character, groundbreaking effects, and no shortage of tension. I’m talking about Ridley Scott’s celebrated masterpiece Alien.

If you have somehow not yet experienced this film or are due for a rewatch, you are in luck. As of the publication of this post, the critically acclaimed Horror feature is available to stream via Hulu. Hooray!

The Oscar-winning Horror picture features a phenomenal cast that includes the likes of Sigourney Weaver, Tom Skerritt, John Hurt, Veronica Cartwright, Harry Dean Stanton, Ian Holm, and Yaphet Kotto.

On the off chance you are unfamiliar with the proceedings, the setup goes like this: In deep space, the crew of the commercial starship Nostromo is awakened from their cryo-sleep capsules halfway through their journey home to investigate a distress call from an alien vessel. The terror begins when the crew encounters a nest of eggs inside the alien ship. An organism from inside an egg leaps out and attaches itself to one of the crew, causing him to fall into a coma.

Good news Ripley fans. The star of Alien won Dread Central’s recent, and definitive, final girl March Madness bracket. Well deserved, if you ask us. Check out her winning summary here:
