2024 Trackhouse Racing Advance – Busch Light Clash — Ross Chastain – Speedway Digest – Home for NASCAR News

This Weekend: The third-annual Busch Light Clash is the NASCAR Cup Series’ season-opening exhibition race featuring the sport’s top stars. NASCAR on Fox will once again carry the broadcast for the Busch Light Clash while the NASCAR Mexico Series Race will be on FS1, Fox Deportes, Fox Sports 3 in Mexico, and available regionally on Claro Sports and the D Motors channel on DirecTV.

How the Clash Works:

Heat Race Starting Lineup: The field will be spilt into three practice groups, with each group receiving three sessions. Each competitor’s fastest lap time from their final practice session will determine the starting lineup for the heat races.
Heat Races: Four heat races of 25 laps each with only green flag laps counted – no overtime in play. The top-five from each heat race advance through to The Clash.
Last Chance Qualifier: Cars that do not transfer to The Clash will compete in the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) race with their starting position determined by where they finished in their respective heat races. The LCQ race is 75 laps with only green flag laps counted – no overtime in play. The top-two finishers in the LCQ will transfer to The Clash.
Feature: The main event will feature 23 drivers competing for 150 laps with only green flag laps counted – the race must end under green. A timed break will be observed at the halfway point of the race (Lap 75).
Lineup: The first 22 starting spots for The Clash is set through finishing positions in the heat races and the LCQ. The 23rd and final starting spot is reserved for the driver who finished the highest in the 2023 season driver points standings who did not already transfer into The Clash.

Race Notes

New Year, New Sponsor: As a major primary sponsor of Trackhouse Racing’s NASCAR Cup Series driver Ross Chastain, Busch Light is excited to bring its passion for NASCAR to the track and captivate fans by introducing its fresh, new ‘Iconic’ paint scheme, and first with Ross Chastain, at the annual Busch Light Clash. The No. 1 Chevrolet will carry the Busch Light ‘Iconic’ paint scheme in various races during the 2024 NASCAR Cup season. Additional details can be found in a press release HERE and visual assets of the paint scheme are available HERE.
Busch Light Fan Sweepstakes: Follow @BuschBeer on X on race day for a fun game of #BuschLightClashBingo. You can enter using the #BuschLightClashBingo #Sweepstakes every time something on the board happens. When BINGO is achieved, Busch Light will be giving away a piece of the asphalt from the 2024 Busch Light Clash track.
Last year at the Clash: Chastain started eighth and finished 12th in his only Clash appearance. He did not qualify for the feature race in 2022.
Meet Chastain: On Saturday at 11 a.m. PST, the Busch Light driver will sign autographs for the public at Superior Grocers, 5824 S. Vermont Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90044. Chastain will also appear for a Q&A at the Fan Fest Stage on Christmas Tree Lane at the Los Angeles Coliseum on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. PST.
NASCAR: Full Speed: Catch Chastain in the upcoming five episode docuseries NASCAR: Full Speed on Netflix. The series documented portions of Chastain's 2023 season on and away from the track. The first episode of the docuseries will premier Tuesday, January 30 on Netflix.
2023 Season Recap: Chastain won at Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway in June and at the Phoenix Raceway season finale in November. He posted 10 top-5 and 14 top-10 finishes in his third fulltime Cup season. The Alva, Florida native finished ninth in points.

Chastain Quotes:

Thoughts on the Busch Light paint scheme?

“I can’t wait to represent the Busch Light brand on the track in 2024 and race for the mountains with the fresh, exhilarating look of the ‘Iconic’ paint scheme. This new paint scheme isn’t just a change in appearance – it represents Busch Light’s ongoing commitment to the sport, and I’m looking forward to seeing fans be captivated by it throughout the season.”

How have your experiences been at the Clash?

“My two experiences with the Clash are not making the race in 2022 and being pretty competitive in 2023. If we take another step like we did from 2022 to 2023, we will have a shot to win this year. The event is a vibe and I want to be part of the show. It’s obviously a special weekend for Busch Light and it’s my first time driving the scheme so I hope we cap the weekend off with a win.”
