These artworks are great for uncovering the lore, but they also serve as an indicator for the player to make preparations for an incoming boss fight. Here’s how players can reach the Ostrich:

Finding the Ostrich in Animal Well is easier said than done. In loose terms, the Ostrich is found on the middle right side of the map. More concretely, players will need to go up one chamber, cross the next towards the right, go up another two chambers, cross two more chambers to the right, and then drop down two chambers to reach the main room leading to the Ostrich.
Once in the chamber that contains a ladder underneath a statue of the Ostrich, players can save by going to the telephone inside the chamber to the left.
After saving, go down the ladder in the main chamber, and players will find themselves in a fairly simple puzzle section.

Be careful of spikes in this chamber, and don’t worry about the ghost mouse. It will phase through the character while its eyes are flashing.

Once the door is open, the player will enter a chamber with a closed door. Right before the pillar, they will find a path leading down. Follow it to reach a yellow button that will open said door, letting them reach the Ostrich in the next chamber.

How To Get Past The Ostrich In Animal Well

Defeating the Ostrich isn’t the easiest thing, but it’s not too hard either. Once players become familiar with the mechanics of Animal Well, it becomes much easier to complete this task and move past the boss. Here’s everything players need to do:

After entering the boss chamber, go down the first chute in the ground and move left. Once the platform ends, fall down and move to the right to reach the first yellow button.
Wait until the Ostrich retracts its head, and jump back up to the main chamber.
Skip the second chute, and head down the third one. From there, head left until you reach the second yellow button. Players can then leave through a hole right on top of them or use the way they first came in.

The Ostrich’s head is only so long. If in a pickle, players should go as far as they can from the hole the Ostrich is peeking in.

The last two yellow buttons can be found in the final chute. Players should maintain as much distance from the Ostrich as possible before entering the last hole.
Fall down the last chute, and climb on top of the small outcropping on the right. Jump from the edge to the ledge to reach the platform with the third yellow button. Press it and head back down.

The last chute only has one entrance, so it’s a little tricky to avoid the Ostrich’s attacks. However, the far ends of the chamber are safe from the Ostrich’s reach, and
players can use fireworks
to scare the head away for a few seconds.

Head to the left side of the tiny chamber, and go underneath the hole you first came from.
Jump up and to the right to reach the last button, which will unlock the door.

After unlocking the door, players can simply leave the chamber. There is no way to kill the Ostrich entirely; players can only ignore it and keep moving. Make sure to save after unlocking the doors behind the Ostrich. If a player dies before saving, they will be reset to the last time they saved, erasing all the achievements they made along the way.
