Avoiding the Traps in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

Yesterday I had some first impressions of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown for the Nintendo Switch. Today I want to focus on the game’s exploration and talk about some of the traps you’ll run into.

In Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown for Nintendo Switch, the prince will run into a massive area thats really just one huge trap. There are tons of enemies to fight and worse yet, lots of swinging blades and pits of spikes to avoid.

The prince is luckily very athletic and jumps and swings across pits and out of the way blades with ease. One of the coolest things about the blades is that some of them look they are swinging at the screen. Its a 3D like effect without actually looking 3D dimensional. Imagine what that would’ve looked like on the 3DS. Wow. Still, it looks pretty impressive on the Switch.

There are many things to avoid like spikes on walls that come out and go back into the wall. The prince has to time it right to wall jump on the area where the spikes are to the next wall. Wall jumping is a very important move in this game. You’ll be using that along with other skills to navigate the Lost Crown’s amazing Metroidvania like map.

Pressing the minus button in Prince of Persia The Lost Crown will bring up the game’s map. As you find new areas, the map will fill in and you can also buy a map from a kid to reveal new places. There are minimal load times between different places that the prince visits. And while its one huge place he’s in, some areas look different from each other: a palace, ruins, forests, and underground areas are popular so far. Its a very cool game!

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown feels like an older game in the series, while also feeling new and fresh. We’ll continue to play it and provide you with even more insights into the game next week!
