Destiny 2: 16 Rarest Emblems

Highlights

  • Destiny 2
players flaunt rare emblems to showcase their achievements and events they’ve participated in.
  • Some of the rarest emblems in the game are no longer obtainable or were only available during limited-time events.
  • Emblems can be obtained through various means, such as completing raids, participating in community activities, showcasing fashion, or being recognized by Bungie.

Destiny 2 players can often find themselves flexing their new flair, but it will be hard to show off to friendly and opposing Fireteams without the use of the rarest emblems in Destiny 2. Emblems are a way for Destiny 2 Guardians to show their calling card, a well-designed image next to their name that will show the feats that they have been through over the years as a Guardian protecting the Last City.

Destiny 2: Strongest Raid Bosses, Ranked In Terms of Lore

Destiny 2’s best raid bosses have some incredible strengths that are only truly displayed in the lore, begging the question of who is the strongest.

However, some Destiny 2 emblems are either unobtainable anymore, or so hard to receive that they have been branded as some of the rarest emblems in the game for a reason. Whether it’s for style or curiosity, here are some of the rarest emblems in Destiny 2.

Updated on May 5, 2024, by Jake Fillery: 7 years on, Destiny 2 continues to thrill players, engaging them in a plethora of content where players can strive to be better than the rest take on extreme challenges, and engage in events to build a legacy. As part of this legacy, players will find some rare Destiny 2 emblems throughout the game’s lifespan, from PvP, PvE, seasonal activities, and real-life events. Some players might have some of these emblems, whereas other players might never have even known they existed.

16 Pre-Order Emblems

Pre-Order Expansions Before They Release

As an incentive to pre-order expansions, Bungie usually provides players with an exclusive emblem. These emblems have been in the game for quite some time, with the latest and potential last, being the pre-order for The Final Shape.

If players do not pre-order these expansions, then once they are released, they will be lost forever. Whilst it’s not the end of the world to lose out on an emblem, it is a good way to spot players that support Bungie and Destiny 2‘s expansions before release.

15 The Moon Stirs

GuardianCon 2019 & PAX Prime 2019 Exclusive

destiny 2 guardians in crucible

Only those in the US could have a chance of getting this emblem way back in 2019 when players could head to GuardianCon or PAX Prime and compete in Destiny 2‘s Crucible PvP mode to be given a new emblem to wield. Whilst nothing inherently special, it’s still extremely rare.

With Into the Light here for Destiny 2, the prep for The Final Shape is on. Here are the weapons every guardian needs going into the next expansion.

This is an emblem that not many people will have due to location and event, so if players see someone wielding The Moon Stirs emblem, just know that they are probably an avid PvP enjoyer, so it’s best to be hopeful that they are on the player’s team or prepare for the worst.

14 Vermillion Defender

Place Ascendant 3 Division or higher In Ranked PvP, Season 22

Guardian <a href=games in the Crucible in Destiny 2″ data-img-url=”https://static0.gamerantimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/2023_guardian_games_presskit_pvp_compressed_002-1.jpg” src=”https://static0.gamerantimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/2023_guardian_games_presskit_pvp_compressed_002-1.jpg” style=”display:block;height:auto;max-width:100%;”/>

Ranked PvP isn’t exactly the most popular mode in Destiny 2. Whilst some players prefer to focus on the plethora of PvE content, from Raids, Nightfalls, and seasonal activities, some still prefer the competitive thrill that comes with The Crucible. As such, players flock to Ranked play to fight against fellow Guardians.

In order to champion over others, players will need to reach high divisions, like Ascendant 3, which proves mastery over other Guardians. Vermillion Defender is the rarest of these ranked emblems, whether that’s because of dwindling interest in Season 22, or purely because Ranked play is a hard ask.

13 The Craftening

Play During September 9-21, 2023

The weapon crafting table from the Witch Queen expansion reveal for Destiny 2 in August of 2021.

Another emblem that players simply won’t be able to find anymore comes from The Craftening. This was an event that took place in early September of 2023, in which players could abuse and break the weapon crafting system in The Enclave. The results were utterly hilarious and entirely powerful, and Bungie allowed players to have fun with it before they patched it out of the game for good.

The glitch event was beloved by players, and people seemed to easily one-phase raid bosses and dungeon bosses solo, as well as wreak havoc in the crucible. Players were crafting shotguns that fired linear fusion rifle shots, machine guns that launched rockets, and all kinds of absurdities for an event dubbed The Craftening.

12 Prismatic Inferno

Complete One Crucible Match During Laser Tag Weekend, December 8-12, 2017

Prismatic Inferno

One of the most sought-after emblems due to its neon design and cool art, Prismatic Inferno is locked behind years past and holds a funny history behind it. Bungie accidentally overpowered the Prometheus Lens to an absurd degree, but instead of instantly nerfing it or hiding the weapon away, they elected to give it to Xur, so all Guardians could embrace the carnage that this weapon could cause.

Players could fight each other in the Crucible to become eligible for this emblem, but since many players might not have been in Destiny 2 at the time, or were simply avoiding the unfolding carnage and waiting for it to blow over, this emblem is in the hands of just a few.

11 Wish Ascended

Complete The Last Wish Raid Within 24 Hours Of Its Release

wish ascended emblem

The Wish Ascended emblem is perhaps the most infamous of all, due to the fact that it’s a day-one raid emblem where only 12 people in total managed to complete it. The fact that barely 0.01% of the game’s population has this emblem, showcases how hard the mechanics of this raid were to figure out, and that for almost the entire game’s population, the Wish Ascended is locked to 12 dedicated and talented Guardians.

Beginners in Destiny 2 might be easily overwhelmed by the abundance of activities. Here’s what newcomers should try doing first.

Day One raids are often beloved by the community, as teams fight to become the World’s First. Yet, even completing a new raid in 24 hours is an accomplishment, but for many teams, The Last Wish was just too much to ask for. Even some teams missed out on the 24-hour emblem by just 2 minutes.

10 Emblem of Hibiscus

Purchase Any Item From Yuna (Asian Region Servers Only)

yuna secret eververse vendor-1

The Emblem of Hibiscus is of a design only available to Asian Region Servers. Specifically, this emblem could only be obtained via South Korean internet cafes, in which players could visit an exclusive vendor in the Tower, Yuna from the Mugunghwa Legion.

Yuna sells a variety of goods, and players might not even know about her existence. If players are to purchase anything from her, they will obtain the Emblem of Hibiscus, but it is completely inaccessible to players outside of these Asian Region Servers.

9 Vaulted Raids Emblems

Some Raids Are No Longer In The Game, Meaning There Is No Way To Unlock Their Emblems

destiny 2 scourge of the past raid boss

Vaulted Raids:

  • Spire of the Stars
  • Crown of Sorrow
  • Eater of Worlds
  • Scourge of the Past
  • Leviathan

To show the progression and journeys of some Guardians, many players equip past Raid emblems to show their feats. These raids could include the Scourge of the Past Raid or any of the Leviathan Raids and Lairs. This is because these raids are vaulted content, and have been sunset for quite some time now, with no signs of ever returning just yet.

By showing off these vaulted Raid emblems, players can show to others and New Light players, that they have been around for quite some time, proving that they are indeed Destiny 2 veterans that has stuck around for the long haul of the game’s lifespan.

8 Artist Of The Week Emblems

Have A Piece Of Artwork Feature In “This Week In Destiny”

artist of the week emblem

If a player is featured on the Bungie Blog or Bungie’s social media channels, they will be rewarded with an Artist of the Week emblem. These intricately designed emblems help to showcase Bungie’s relationship with the community, and their acknowledgment of the talent and hard work that the community puts in when it comes to their love of the game.

Without these female characters, Destiny 2 would lack some important faces that bring about Action and success.

It’s hard to obtain an Artist of the Week emblem. Not only due to the talent required to create an artistic piece, but to get it noticed by Bungie. In completion of this, a rare emblem is indeed there for the player, and this reward should be treasured, as barely 1% of Destiny 2’s player base will have one.

Complete A Guided Game Raid Encounter As A Guide

A guardian fireteam exploring together in Destiny 2

Guided games is a good way to assist other and less familiar Guardians through Raids that they may find overwhelming, or not have an idea of how to get through and clear with a Fireteam. Through Guided games, players can receive a ticket to help these players clear through a Raid, guided by experts, sherpas, and those who are patient to see it through to the end.

Many players may completely ignore the idea of Guided games, especially since they need a clan to embark on this journey with. Players can obtain some unique Guided games emblems through this activity, but it will certainly require friendship and patience. However, Guided games is still in its Beta, and since many new players that use this feature are not at the skill level to pass certain encounters, it can be a tedious grind.

6 Forum Ninjas Emblems

forum ninja emblem

Bungie rewards the community with the Forum Ninja emblems. These emblems are gifted to players and members of the community personally by Bungie for their good deeds and service to the company. To be a Forum Ninja, players need to spend a good amount of their time in Bungie’s Forums, assisting other players, offering insight, and answering questions.

It’s a rare thing indeed to receive the title of a Forum Ninja, but Bungie shows its appreciation for these community members that help other players by giving them a unique title and a very rare emblem. Many players may have never seen a Forum Ninja in person due to its rarity.

5 Fashion Show Emblems

Have A Guardian’s Fashion Showcased In “This Week In Destiny”

fashion show week emblem

The quintessential endgame of Destiny 2 is creating the best piece of fashion that the player possibly can. Thanks to the Transmog system, and the hundreds of armors available through Eververse, in-game activities, and Raids, players can create many unique and fashionable Guardians to show off in their “dresstiny” quest to look the part of the coolest or weirdest Guardian around.

Some of the best Destiny villains have different goals but are all extremely memorable for a reason.

However, if players want to show their pride from within their Guardian, then they can upload their fashion for Bungie’s Fashion Show in an attempt to be recognized for their ‘drip’. If successful, their fashion will be uploaded by Bungie and rewarded with the Fashion Show emblem. However, players need to compete with other fashionable Guardians, and the same copy-paste Patrick Star and Yoda designs are featured almost as weekly as a gun-testing Fallen Dreg.

4 Heavy As Death

Kill 2,500 Guardians Whilst Under The Effects Of Iron Burden

heavy as death emblem

An emblem that can no longer be obtained, Heavy as Death was an achievement amongst Destiny 2 members, especially those who enjoy PvP and the Iron Banner. The unlock requirements for this emblem had players complete “Now You’re Just Showing Off”, in which players needed to get 2,500 final blows while under the effects of Iron Burden.

Iron Burden was a debuff designed for the best players in Destiny 2, which saw their Power lowered to 100. It cost 5 Iron Banner Tokens to activate and would allow opponents to melt through these Guardians like butter. Obtaining 2,500 while under this heavy fire is no easy task, especially when Iron Banner has level-scaling.

3 Solo Flawless Dungeon Emblems

Complete A Dungeon Without Dying Or Leaving The Activity In A Solo Fireteam

solo prophecy dungeon emblem

Dungeons can be a difficult feat for any Guardian. As players assemble into teams of three, they may find themselves struggling, and dying, a lot. However, what makes it a challenge is when players are tasked with completing a dungeon not only solo, but flawless, meaning they cannot have a teammate to aid them, nor can they die from beginning to end.

Each dungeon will feature a solo flawless emblem upon completion, without returning to orbit or having a friend join. It’s no easy task to complete a solo flawless dungeon, but some tips may assist players who are looking to show off their skills as a lone wolf.

2 The Wolves Unleashed

Play At Least One Match Of Iron Banner During Season 7

the wolves unleashed emblem

There was a time in Destiny 2 when some Exotic weapons were completely broken, and so overpowered that games were essentially over within a flash. This weapon brought the Iron Banner to its knees, and Guardians could either join them or die in resistance to the dreaded Lord of Wolves weapon.

In Season 7 of the Iron Banner, the Lord of Wolves Exotic was absurdly overpowered, and as such, Bungie gifted all players who had played an Iron Banner match within the first two events of Season 7, The Wolves Unleashed emblem. This emblem shows that the players survived the hardships of this overpowered weapon, and lived to tell about it.

1 Day One Raid Emblems

Complete A Raid Within 24 Hours Of Its Release

day one root of nightmares emblem

There is no event in Destiny 2 quite like a day-one Raid. When a Raid is first released, the Destiny 2 community swarms in teams of six. Going in without a clue as to what to expect with unique mechanics and bosses, players work together in a race to be the world’s first to complete the Destiny 2 Raid and become immortalized as the champion Guardians that saved the day from Taken and otherworldly threats.

All players that embark on these Raids on day one will receive the Day One Raid emblem, but only if they can complete it within 24 hours. Many Raids have featured a Day One emblem, and many teams have tried and failed to complete it on time. Yet, none are as infamous as The Last Wish.
