Elden Ring Fans Can Win a Life-Sized Statue in Bandai’s Latest Contest

Every time we get closer to the eagerly awaited expansion of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree hitting the market, and Bandai Namco, the game’s distributor from From Software, is stirring up the atmosphere for its community of players. The latest move announced by the company has been the opening of a video contest that will have an impressive prize: a life-size statue of Messmer the Impaler reaching 3 meters in height along with other prizes.

However, the contest announcement came with a caveat, as it is exclusive to residents of the United States. The best Elden Ring fan trailer will receive as a prize a 3-meter tall statue of Messmer.

The contest we’re referring to in this news was recently made public on Bandai Namco US’s social media, and as we mentioned, it’s exclusively for residents of the United States who are also over 18 years of age.

Specifically, they challenge fans to create their own Elden Ring trailer to commemorate their gaming experience in a grand way. However, the video must not exceed 5 minutes and must be uploaded to the internet before June 2, 2024.

Those living in the USA who wish to participate can upload their video to platforms such as YouTube, Vimeo, or the X social network, and then share the link to their creation on the official website.

The grand prize of the contest, intended for the best trailer, is a statue of the character Messmer the Impaler that Bandai Namco promises measures 10 feet in height, which equates to about 3 meters, although no images of how it looks have been revealed.

Messmer the Impaler is, for now, a somewhat unknown figure in the world of Elden Ring, but he will be key in the game’s lore once the challenging DLC hits the market, as he is one of the children of Márika, the goddess who rose to become queen of the Intermediate Lands.

In addition to the Messmer statue, there will be other prizes to be distributed in various categories in this contest. For example, videos with the best narrative, best Action, or best direction will win a life-size replica of Malenia’s prosthetic arm.

Meanwhile, videos boasting the best comedy, the best use of sound, the best armor design, or the most original use of the Elden Ring will receive a replica of Messmer the Impaler’s helmet. This helmet is a 1:1 limited edition replica of the one the character wears in the game, weighing 4 kg, made with the highest quality materials, and manufactured by Pure Arts. Although if you do not reside in the United States, you cannot opt to win it for free in the contest, currently you can purchase this collector’s item in Bandai Namco’s digital store.

Shadow of the Erdtree will be released on June 21st on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One, and Hidetaka Miyazaki himself, director of the base game and this expansion, has confirmed that it will be the only DLC planned for Elden Ring.
