Fallout 76: Where To Find Anglers

The many mutants in Fallout 76’s Appalachian wasteland include a number of twisted sea creatures. This includes Anglers, large, bipedal anglerfish with long limbs and very sharp claws. They can be fairly threatening, but they are also excellent sources of some of the game’s rarer crafting materials.

Anglers are somewhat rare, but they can be found in large numbers as long as players know where to look. If you’re looking for a way to quickly farm Adhesives in Fallout 76, consider hunting Anglers in the following areas.

Fallout 76: Angler Locations

Like many other monsters in Fallout 76, Anglers can be found in preset locations throughout the wasteland, though you’ll tend to find these guys in the Mire region on the eastern edge of the map. You can find up to three in the waters of the Gnarled Shallows, a swampy area east of Abbie’s Bunker on the northern tip of the Mire — head northeast of the bunker, then follow the river north until you reach a large pond. Another three can usually be found around Thunder Mountain Substation TM-01, which is due west of the Super Mutant-occupied town of Harper’s Ferry.

Other known spawn points won’t always have Anglers present. Pylon V-13, a power substation found east of the Abandoned Bog Town workshop, may have up to three Anglers right behind the pylon. If the Angler’s don’t spawn here, expect to see Mirelurk Hunters, Gulpers, or Snallygasters instead.

Anglers sometimes hide in the environment. Keep an eye out for the lures sticking out of their heads so you don’t get ambushed.

An angler in Fallout 76

The best way to find tons of Anglers is to join the Moonshine Jamboree event, which takes place just south of Substation TM-01. Here, players will need to protect three moonshine stills from incoming waves of Gulpers, Feral Ghouls, and Anglers. Fighting here tends to get chaotic very quickly, and if you want to keep the stills from getting destroyed, you’ll need to bring the best Fallout 76 weapons you can find.

Apart from being excellent sources of Adhesives, Anglers also tend to drop plenty Raw Asbestos, a key material in the production of certain chems and armor mods. Additionally, Angler Meat can be cooked into Poached Angler, a type of consumable that increases your max AP by 20 for 30 minutes when consumed. The recipe for this meal is unlocked automatically after you acquire Angler Meat for the first time.
