Amazon Prime Video’s Fallout has become one of the streaming platforms’ most viewed pieces of content, becoming one of the entertainment industry’s biggest revelations of 2024. Many video game adaptations fail to succeed. Fallout, though, is a rare occurrence of a video game adaption being faithful to its original material.




Following the story of Lucy MacLean, Maximus, and The Ghoul, each of their individual stories intertwine to create an enthralling narrative set in a desolate and post-apocalyptic world. In Fallout, several episodes stand out for their storylines and contribution toward the overall story. These episodes are the highlights of the series so far.

In this revealing and Action-packed episode, The Ghoul’s background becomes clear. Before the nuclear disaster, he was Cooper Howard, a famous actor working in Hollywood — and a propaganda tool for Vault-Tec. Along with The Ghoul’s evident hatred for Vault-Tec, the character captures Lucy, who loses Dr. Siggi Wilzig’s head to a monster.


While The Ghoul and Lucy reunite, Maximus endures further hardships as the character almost loses his knight suit to a group of bandits. To aid Maximus, his bully Thaddeus, is sent to be his squire. The two strike up an unlikely friendship that leads to the acquisition of Wilzig’s head.

7 Season 1, Episode 5: The Past

Inevitably, both protagonists, Lucy and Maximus, meet, marking the start of a strong friendship as they seek to survive. Along their travels, the pair endure hardship as Maximus teaches Lucy how to survive on the surface. The pair eventually make it to the New California Republic, Maximus’ original home. Here, Lucy learns that civilization is back up and running while her group continues to cower in the vaults. After falling into a trap, Lucy and Maximus end the episode inside Vault 4, with Lucy rejoicing at their surroundings.


While Lucy and Maximus traverse the surface, Norm continues his investigation into Vault 32, and the suspicious Betty is voted the new overseer in Vault 33. Later on, the vault dwellers visit Vault 32, and completely revamp the vault to cover up the secrets that preside in Vault-Tec.

When Wilzig and his dog go on the run from the Enclave, his bounty is released. Several parties, such as the Brotherhood of Steel and bounty hunters like The Ghoul, are in hot pursuit. In what turns into a chaotic spectacle, all major characters converge on the town of Filly, where an all-Action brawl takes place. The Ghoul, Lucy, and Maximus are all involved in the hunt for Wilzig.

After the success of its Fallout series, Amazon and Bethesda should link up again to adapt some of these other excellent video game series.

After leaving his knight to die, Maximus takes the knight suit and battles The Ghoul despite his inexperience. After Lucy helps Wilzig escape, Wilzig commits suicide. This leaves Lucy with no choice but to decapitate his head, which holds a cold fusion capable of altering the landscape, enabling power generation.

5 Season 1, Episode 1: The End

The show’s pilot introduces the world of Fallout, depicting the main characters’ different walks of life. Lucy and her fellow vault dwellers are attacked by bandits shortly after her wedding, and the chaos leads her to escape in order to rescue her father, Hank MacLean. The show also introduces Maximus as a member of the Brotherhood of Steel. He becomes a squire to a knight, due to his friend injuring Dane their foot in suspicious circumstances.


Cooper, otherwise known as The Ghoul, has survived the nuclear disaster. His character has been reanimated as a bounty-hunting ghoul on the hunt for revenge. Much of the episode paints the picture of what’s to come, with the three main protagonists set for a head-on collision that unravels the secrets of the Fallout world.

4 Season 1, Episode 7: The Radio

In Fallout’s penultimate episode, Lucy and Maximus leave Vault 4 after learning the true nature of level 12. Meanwhile, the operations of Vault-Tec become evermore suspicious to Lucy in particular. Later in the episode, the race for the Wilzig’s head reaches a boiling point when Thaddeus alerts the Brotherhood of its capture, ready to hand it in.


Before the Brotherhood arrives, Lucy and Maximus retrieve the head, and Maximus is left to cover Lucy’s tracks as she escapes. In the vaults, Norm’s investigative skills lead him to Vault 31, where many of Vault-Tec’s secrets lie. This cliffhanger sets up for a dramatic and enticing season finale.

3 Season 1, Episode 6: The Trap

As Cooper’s involvement with Vault-Tec continued, he became suspicious of Barb’s activities in the company. In the present, Lucy and Maximus are welcomed into Vault 4. Lucy becomes wary of the facility, despite Maximus becoming enamored with the surroundings.

Norm’s discovery leaves the vault dwellers questioning their surroundings, with a lot of mystery around Vault-Tec needing to be resolved.

1 Season 1, Episode 8: The Beginning

In Fallout’s season finale, all storylines come to a head, with an all-out war emerging to obtain the cold fusion. Before warfare erupts, Lucy reunites with her father. But Lee Moldaver, Lucy’s supposed enemy, tells her the truth about her father’s actions as a Vault-Tec employee. With Maximus leading the Brotherhood toward Lucy’s location, conflict erupts between Moldaver’s army and the Brotherhood, causing an Action-packed war full of death and destruction.


Many of the biggest secrets in Fallout come to light in the episode. Vault-Tec is found to be responsible for escalating nuclear warfare to increase their hold on humanity in the future, demonstrating their power. With the cold fusion activated and Hank on the loose, The Ghoul and Lucy team up for the second time. Now, their motivations are the same as they venture towards an exciting setup for season two.
