Final Fantasy 14: All Beast Tribes and How to Unlock Them

Players who want to discover all Beast Tribes in Final Fantasy 14 are in for a long journey. There is a total of 17 of them ahead of Dawntrail, and players can earn all kinds of rewards by maxing them out. Beast Tribes are split into three categories: there are Tribes for combat, for crafting (Disciple of the Hand), and for gathering (Disciple of the Land). Players must change their job and complete different tasks based on the category. While players will usually max out combat Beast Tribe levels for rewards, crafting and gathering Tribes are very useful to get XP.

Square Enix has released a varying number of Beast Tribes over the years. Their progression mechanics have also been changed several times since A Realm Reborn, which makes the experience very different based on the expansion. Here is the full list of Beast Tribes and how to unlock them.

  • Qitari (gathering): The Rak’ika Greatwood, Norvrandt (X: 37, Y: 17)

Shadowbringers is the first expansion to release one Beast Tribe for gatherers and another for crafters. The Qitari Tribe requires to reach the main scenario quest, “Bearing With It,” and to complete a series of sidequests, which are listed below:

Beast Tribes from Dawntrail

PeluPelu and Moblins are the both Beast Tribes that were revealed for Dawntrail’s lifecycle. It’s still unclear when they will be introduced in FF14, though.

How Long Does it Take to Max Out Beast Tribes in Final Fantasy 14?

Maxing out Beast Tribes takes a very long time in FF14, both because players can only pick up three Daily Quests and there are a lot of them to complete for points. In addition to Reputation points, players receive coins of the currency of the Tribe for each quest completed, which can be used to buy resources and exclusive items. For each level unlocked, the shop of Beast Tribes welcomes more items to buy. Each of them features one exclusive mount and other rewards, too.

Tribes from A Realm Reborn feature the least number of levels compared to other expansions. In addition, 12 Daily Quests can be completed every day, nine more than other tribes. Players will have five levels to complete to max them out, while all other tribes feature eight different levels. Here is the list and the number of days of completing three Daily Quests required to max them out:

  • Friendly: first day
  • Trusted: 3 days
  • Respected: 6 days
  • Honored: 11 days
  • Sworn: 17 days
  • Bloodsworn: 27 days
  • Allied: it’s a bonus level that can be completed with all Beast Tribes maxed out.

It’s possible to check the Level earned with every Beast Tribe by opening the Character menu and choosing the Reputation tab.
