Final Fantasy 16: The Rising Tide – How To Unlock & Use The Adder Stone

Quick Links

Final Fantasy 16: The Rising Tide adds a whole new region for Clive, Jill, and Joshua to explore. The land of Mysidia is lush and seemingly untouched by the Blight to the south. Within this new region, new crafting materials will be found, which can become new gear pieces or the new Serpent Ring accessories.

Serpent Rings are Leviathan-specific accessories, each boosting a different Ekonic ability. Each Serpent Ring is crafted from the new material Aquamarine, which is only found in Mysidia. Finding Aquamarine first requires players to get the Adder Stone, which can be obtained fairly soon in the DLC.

Final Fantasy 16: Best Eikon Abilities

Clive of Final Fantasy 16 has several extremely powerful Eikon abilities at his disposal as the story progresses. Here are the best of them.

How To Get The Adder Stone

To unlock the Adder Stone, players must first progress through The Rising Tide’s main story until they reach the Surge for the first time and obtain Leviathan’s abilities. After that, return to Haven and begin the side quest “What Ails You”, found near The Foundry. The first half of this quest will have players talking to the blacksmith right near where the quest begins, followed by another villager on the far western side of town.

After this, return to the Healer, who will send Clive to the altar in Father’s Fell. This is only a short trip when leaving Haven from the northern gate, following the first path to the left. At the altar, players will need to fight two waves of five Tonberry Choppers. After defeating the enemies, inspect the altar and collect the Silver Pendant before returning to Fanet. Delivering the Silver Pendant will complete the quest, rewarding the player with 5,600 XP, the Serpent Ring Design Draft, and the Adder Stone.

Those hoping to channel their inner Warrior of Light can now do so by unlocking the Curtana in Final Fantasy 16’s Rising Tide DLC.

How To Use The Adder Stone

The Adder Stone once obtained will always be in effect, and will give players an auditory and visual cue for where to find Aquamarine. Aquamarine is only found in Mysidia, and the exact location of Aquamarine is different depending on the difficulty setting and if players are in Final Fantasy Mode. When near Aquamarine, the sound of a water drop will be heard every few seconds. The exact location of an Aquamarine will have green circles expanding around it, indicating where players need to interact to obtain an Aquamarine.

Aquamarine is one of the required crafting materials to create Serpent Rings either at the blacksmith in Haven or Blackthorne back at the Hideout. Aquamarine is only one of the required materials for Serpent Rings, as various rings will require other new crafting materials obtained throughout The Rising Tide DLC’s quests.
