With the release of Honkai: Star Rail‘s version 2.2 update, players are introduced to two new limited 5-star characters. Additionally, they have the opportunity to obtain the next form of Trailblazer, now an Imaginary Harmony character. This iteration of Trailblazer focuses primarily on increasing allies’ Break Effect and providing added bonuses whenever a Weakness Break occurs, similar to Ruan Mei in some aspects. However, Imaginary Trailblazer also possesses some damage potential to some extent. While there aren’t many characters that benefit directly from Break Effect, players planning to pull on Boothill can create a synergistic team by combining Trailblazer with Gallagher or Ruan Mei.

Honkai: Star Rail – Ruan Mei Build Guide

Honkai: Star Rail’s Ruan Mei is quite easy to build while also providing exceptional utility for the team.

Given this scenario, players stand to benefit from building Imaginary Trailblazer. Fortunately, the build for Trailblazer is relatively simple with minimal min-maxing requirements, and it shares similarities with Ruan Mei’s build with some small nuances.

Best Imaginary Trailblazer Relics In Honkai: Star Rail

Honkai_ Star Rail – Imaginary Trailblazer Best Relic

Considering that Imaginary Trailblazer relies on having as high of a Break Effect as possible, their best relic set as of now is equipping them with the full set of Watchmaker, Master of Dream Machinations. This relic set provides the highest Break Effect possible. While the 2-piece set bonus is essentially the same as the 2-piece set bonus of Thief of Shooting Meteor, the Watchmaker set’s 4-piece bonus is particularly advantageous. Upon using the Ultimate, this set increases the Break Effect of all allies, which can be highly beneficial in any team composition that relies on maximizing Break Effect.

Alternatively, the 4-piece Thief of Shooting Meteor set is still a good option, as it also increases Break Effect, although to a lesser extent. However, it helps Trailblazer generate more energy each time they inflict Weakness Break on an enemy. If players do not have pieces with optimal sub-stats, combining these two sets is also a viable option. Compared to the 4-piece Thief of Shooting Meteor set, players will lose some potential energy regeneration, but this compromise may be worth it while working on obtaining better pieces for the Watchmaker, Master of Dream Machinations 4-piece set bonus.

In terms of Planar Ornaments, players will benefit most from Talia: Kingdom of Banditry. However, it’s worth noting that in order to get the most benefit from it, a minimum of 145 speed is required. Considering that the second-best stat for Imaginary Trailblazer is Speed regardless, this is not a hard requirement. With some sub-stats and a Speed main stat on Feet, achieving this speed threshold will be quite achievable. Another option to consider is Sprightly Vonwacq, as this will help with some Energy Regeneration. However, once players unlock Trailblazer’s eidolons, which are free, the Energy Regeneration requirement won’t be as high.

With that in mind, the main stats also reflect the same requirements. On top of the Speed on Feet, players will benefit from Break Effect on the Link Rope. This is unlike Ruan Mei or many other support units that rely more on Energy Regeneration Rope instead. For the other pieces, defensive stats such as HP or DEF are recommended, as this will help with Trailblazer’s survivability. Lastly, for sub-stats, players should follow the same order, with Break Effect and Speed being the most prominent, followed by DEF and HP stats for survivability. Generally speaking, it’s ideal to focus on achieving over 250% Break Effect and over 145 or 160 speed for the most optimal build.

Best Imaginary Trailblazer Light Cones In Honkai: Star Rail

Honkai_ Star Rail – Imaginary Trailblazer Best Light Cone

The best light cones for Imaginary Trailblazer show similarities to those of Ruan Mei to some extent, especially because of their shared need for Break Effect and Energy Regeneration. Nevertheless, there are also other options that can work as a general buff for other team members, depending on the needs of the party.

  1. Past Self in Mirror: Ruan Mei’s signature light cone, Past Self in Mirror, proves beneficial for Trailblazer as well. It offers a significant Break Effect buff and generates a Skill Point each time the wearer uses their Ultimate. Furthermore, it enhances all allies’ damage and provides 10 energy for each wave, which can prove invaluable in challenging content with multiple waves, such as Pure Fiction. Taken together, Past Self in Mirror stands out as the best option for Imaginary Trailblazer. However, it may not be worth pulling solely for Trailblazer or replacing one equipped on Ruan Mei for Trailblazer.
  2. Memories of the Past: Another viable option that enhances Break Effect while regenerating energy with each of Trailblazer’s attacks is Memories of the Past. This makes it the second-best option and considerably more F2P-friendly, given its 4-star rarity. Particularly if players can maximize its superimpose level, its Break Effect is quite comparable to that of Past Self in Mirror.
  3. Meshing Cogs: Despite being a 3-star rarity option, Meshing Cogs is surprisingly one of the best choices because it allows Trailblazer to regenerate energy with each attack or when hit. This makes Meshing Cogs a solid F2P option as well.
  4. Dance! Dance! Dance!: For those who don’t have access to the above options and are interested in providing different buffs, Dance! Dance! Dance! can also be quite useful. It allows the team’s actions to be advanced forward, potentially enabling allies to perform multiple actions in the same turn. This can be particularly handy in content like Pure Fiction.
  5. Carve the Moon, Weave the Clouds: A strictly non-F2P friendly option, Carve the Moon, Weave the Clouds, is another choice for players interested in providing different benefits such as ATK, Crit DMG, or Energy Regeneration to the team. However, it’s worth noting that Carve the Moon, Weave the Clouds is a more team-restrictive option, as not every character in optimal team compositions might benefit from these buffs, while others like Boothill can make good use of each option.
