Multiplayer maritime sim Ships at Sea delays its early access launch to May 23

This past March saw a distinct new game cross our desk known as Ships at Sea, a multiplayer game that’s all about simulating life in the Norwegian Sea around Lofoten, Norway, letting up to four players take on nautical tasks like commercial fishing, running service ships, or hauling cargo.

The game was set to arrive to early access on May 9th, but developer Misc games has made a late-hour decision to delay that launch, pushing it back to Thursday, May 23rd, instead in order to take advantage of an upgrade to Unreal Engine 5.4 and its promised range of new features that could “significantly enhance both game performance and visual fidelity.”

“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and are grateful for your patience and continued support,” the studio writes. “Rest assured, we are fully committed to utilizing this additional time to enhance the game’s mechanics, and overall stability. We believe these improvements will be well worth the wait.”
