New Helldivers 2 Major Order Wants You to Choose Between Two Stratagems

Arrowhead Game Studios has revealed the next Helldivers 2 Major Order, and this one’s asking you to choose between two stratagem rewards for liberating planets.

In a post on the game’s official X (formerly Twitter) page, Arrowhead exhorts Helldivers 2 players to choose between the planets of Choohe and Penta, both of which are in the Lacaille Sector, meaning you’ll be taking on bots.

Liberating Choohe will reward you with the MD-17 Anti-Tank Mines, while liberating Penta will grant you the RL-77 Airburst Rocket Launcher. Both of these stratagems have previously been leaked, with players carrying out tests of both weapons in the past couple of weeks.

If the pace of previous Helldivers 2 Major Orders is any measure, this one’s likely to be completed fairly quickly, so we’ll probably find out which of the two planets players have opted to liberate before long.

In the meantime, Arrowhead has also quashed rumors that a certain Eagle-1 upgrade caused the craft’s pilot to become “physically augmented”, i.e. have their legs amputated.

In a humorous post on X, Arrowhead says that rumors Eagle pilots are “physically augmented to better perform their duty” aren’t true, and that any Super Earth personnel with “unauthorized body modifications” may, in fact, be “an Automaton dissident”.

This appears to refer to suggestions that the phrase “sacrifices legroom” in the description for the Expanded Weapons Bay upgrade refers to a leg amputation rather than a simple reduction of space.

If you’re somehow unfamiliar with Helldivers 2, it’s a third-person shooter that serves as a followup to the 2015 isometric shooter Helldivers.

Although it presents the action from a new perspective, this sequel still has players forming squads to take down hordes of bugs and bots, with speculation currently rife about a third faction of intelligent and stealthy aliens potentially being on the horizon.
