As expected, the number of announcements has been quite interesting, and you can expect to find a total of 17 new games that will be available or that you can already play from today.

Nintendo Indie World Showcase 2024

The success of the Switch is not solely due to first-party games or those produced by gaming giants: the two-in-one console has become, over its seven years, a true bastion for independent developers and a welcoming haven for all those who enjoy small indie gems. Nintendo knows this well, and its Nintendo Indie World events are that springboard for great discoveries, surprises, and announcements that brighten your day. Especially when what’s shown debuts a demo or arrives just after the presentation.

With Nintendo Switch 2 hinting at an imminent unveiling, the nerves of console followers are on edge, which is why with every event and every game they see, emotions run even higher. For now, there’s no data on the new console, but there is information on the new games coming to the handheld device, so if you want to know all the surprises they’ve unveiled.

If you haven’t had the chance to see it, here we’ll provide you with a summary of everything they’ve shown in the 20-minute duration.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Fate of Splinter

A roguelike arcade game in the style of Hades featuring the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as protagonists. Behind this initiative is none other than Super Evil Megacorp. And we won’t deny it, stepping away from being an Apple Arcade exclusive is a new opportunity for this game to shine, combining the best of classics and modern games, including the option to unleash ninjutsu with up to three friends.

Cat Quest III

Another legendary installment of Cat Quest is here; this time, you’ll be able to explore the seas and have the opportunity to battle both on land and on your ship. Additionally, there’s a local cooperative mode that allows you to enjoy the game with friends or your partner from the comfort of your couch. Can you defeat the pirates and find the mythical Polar Star? Cat Quest III will be available on August 8th.

SteamWorld Heist II

In this new installment, water has become a lethal element for robots, so your goal will be to find out why. The best part is that you can enjoy real-time naval battles and turn-based shootouts when you’re on land; naturally, the robots will have a wide range of weapons and abilities to make the game fun enough. Additionally, you can also recruit new members for the team. If you want to enjoy this installment, you’ll be glad to know that it will be available on August 8th.

Little Kitty, Big City

How would Untitled Goose Game be with cats? Double Dagger Studio gives us the answer with Little Kitty, Big City, allowing us to control a funny furry not as mischievous as our feathered friend but with its own list of mischief to do. In less than a month, we’ll be able to start crossing off pending tasks on Switch.

You’ll be able to let people pet you, help other animals, and even annoy pedestrians in the city by making them trip over you. A title that has attracted a lot of attention and will be available on May 9, 2024

Yars Rising

This installment has managed to keep a lot of people intrigued. The game comes from Atari and WayForward, responsible for the Shantae series, so it seems that quality is more than present. The objective is to destroy an evil corporation, and to do so, you will have to make use of all your skills. Perhaps this is one of the titles that has convinced users the most, so you will have to be very attentive to see all the news that comes out about it. The game does not yet have an official release date, but it is known that it will arrive later this year.

Refind Self: The Personality Test Game

If you’ve ever been curious about how video games would define your personality, now you have the opportunity thanks to this title. This time, you’re facing a 2D game with pixel art aesthetics where you’ll have to make various decisions. At the end of the game, you’ll be able to know what your personality is like, and you’ll be given a result. You could become a samurai, a pacifist… The options are many, so you can play the game multiple times to discover all the results. Additionally, you can also compare your personality with that of other players.

Sticky Business

Imagine a store dedicated to creating, editing, and selling stickers. Right off the bat, it has over 400 elements to mix and match, as well as effects or enhancements. The possibilities aren’t endless, but they’re close. After its stint on PC, Sticky Business sets sail for Switch with a tailor-made edition that, by the way, arrives today on the eShop with an extra surprise: the Plan With Me DLC, packed with content and possibilities, is also available.

Antomblast

The Indie World has also presented games that exude Action from every pore, and this time Antonblast arrives to fulfill that need to utterly destroy everything. The best part is, if you want to try it out, this installment already has a demo available. However, the final game will be released on November 12th, so you still have to wait a little longer.

Lorelei and the Laser Eyes

Puzzles, mysteries, and a black-and-white setting that is a melting pot of influences in a game that unfolds nonlinearly and bears the signature of the creators of Sayonara Wild Hearts. Ahead, over 100 puzzles with clues so we don’t get stuck.

Valley Peaks

This time, you’ll have to take care of placing radio antennas in a vast valley. Of course, you’ll also be able to explore and investigate the terrain around you. To achieve your goal, you’ll have to climb, glide, and even use your tongue to move around and reach the game’s challenging corners. Although there’s no fixed release date yet, the game will arrive on Nintendo Switch later this year.

stitch.

A game for embroidery enthusiasts, yes, you read that right. If you enjoy embroidering and creating incredible images with needle and thread, this time you can do it on your Nintendo Switch. The game is already available and currently features 180 embroidery hoops plus some that arrive weekly. This means you have many patterns to create and pass the time, but of course, it’s not all that easy; each embroidery is structured like a little puzzle you’ll have to solve. If you’re not very skilled at it, there are accessibility options to make it easier for you. Of course, after the game’s release, there will be more patterns to embroider.

Europa

In no Nintendo Direct can a platformer adventure with a touch of fantasy and captivating aesthetics be missing. As the android Zee, we must uncover the mysteries of Europa’s moon through platforming jumps, puzzles, and exploration. The good thing is that we have a jetpack from the start that will give us that extra push. The best part is that its demo can already be downloaded on Switch.
