In a new interview with our sister site GameRant, Mob Entertainment CEO Zach Belanger divulged some new details on Poppy Playtime’s Chapter 4 DLC. Belanger said that the upcoming villain for the new chapter would be a “fan favorite” and is the one he and Seth Belanger (Co-Founder and CCO of Mob Entertainment) have been most excited for.
Poppy Playtime remains one of Steam’s most popular games/”>indie horror games, peaking at well over 13,000 concurrent players at the launch of Chapter 3 earlier this year (via SteamDB). Now, with Chapter 4 on the horizon, fans are eager to know what’s in store for Poppy Playtime’s next DLC.
When asked about the new villain for Poppy Playtime Chapter 4, Belanger said it is the one he and Seth “have been most excited about,” before explaining how the villain will be a fan favourite. “The design takes every unique advantage of being a Poppy Playtime toy monster, from the material choice to the animation. Beyond that, fans can expect the highest quality, most stable, most optimized, and the best user experience of any of our games yet,” Belanger told GameRant.
Unfortunately, Mob Entertainment’s CEO did not give anything away when it came to Chapter 4’s release date. With such a monumental gap between Chapters 2 and 3 (almost two years, to be exact), it could still be some time before Chapter 4 releases.
The Future Is Bright For Mob Entertainment
As Chapter 3 was only released at the beginning of this year, fans could be in for quite a long wait, especially considering Belanger also told GameRant that Mob Entertainment is “positioning itself to be a lot more than just the Poppy Playtime company.” According to Belanger, Mob Entertainment is aiming to launch “several more IPs, several of which are also in the horror genre.”
With the upcoming release of Chapter 4, several new IPs in the works, and even a Poppy Playtime movie adaptation in the works, it’s safe to say that Mob Entertainment is all systems go with a bright future ahead.
