Splatoon 3’s Splatfest asks how you’d handle end of the word, assigns Eggstra Work

Well, we know how you readers handle game sunsets, but Splatoon 3 wants to know how you’d handle the end of the world. Not that it’s coming in meatspace or Splat 3 (that we know of), but here we are! That’s the theme we’re looking at for the Splatfest 16. Your choices will be Team Same Ol’, Bucket List, or Save the Day, which assumes whatever is happening can be somewhat minimized. The event will run from Friday, May 17th, 8 p.m. EDT to Sunday, May 19th, same time. That most likely means the Splatfest prep period will start May 10th too.

The timing is a bit of a bummer, though, as there will be some Eggstra Work during the same hours as Splatfest, just during the May 10th-12th period and overlapping with the estimated prep period. You’ll be working at Jammin’ Salmon Junction, which was released June 2023, so perhaps this is an early birthday celebration? Luckily, since our original review of the feature, Eggstra Work also uses matchmaking, so you don’t have to rely on your friends/Pools/Discord servers to get your proverbial feet (tentacles?) wet.

The theme for the 16th Splatfest is in! It asks: “What would you do at the world’s end?” Same Ol’, Bucket List, or Save the Day?

It’s an ominous theme, but fortunately hypothetical, so you can participate worry-free.
