Sun of a Beach Switch Game Review

Anime Girls: Sun of a Beach is the sequel to Anime Girls: Highschool of Dead. Instead of anime schoolgirls shooting zombies, you get anime girls in skimpy bathing suits shooting mutant crabs and stuff. In some ways the series progressed. In other ways, it takes a huge step backwards. For one thing, the level design is small generic island beaches, with little reason to explore. In HighSchool, there were chests all over the place. In Sun of a Beach, there are ammo chests, but no health or weapon chests. Plus, there are egg containing these spider things that pop out if you get close, adding to your kill count for each wave. Therefore, exploration is discouraged.

Sun of a Beach is now divided into thirty days of 2-3 waves each. The weapons are now in a weapons shop and bought via cash that trickles in by beating levels. You start out with a pistol, and only a pistol, and need to save up for the shotgun, machine gun, or sniper rifle. The fact that you start with a pistol is a hindrance since they do puny damage and you’re constantly reloading. Game play boils down to running backwards in a circle, shooting at the monsters until they all die. Rinse and repeat.

Anime Girls: Sun of a Beach simply is not good or fun. It felt like a chore and I put it down rather quickly. Shooting zombies was fun. Shooting spider-crab things is not Even having the women in bikinis can’t save this. This game gets a Not Recommended with a four back-end score.

Overall: Anime Girls: Sun of a Beach has a good name, but that’s about all it has going for it.
