Remnant 2: The Forgotten Kingdom – How to Get Resolute Secret Trait

This guide has all the information that players need to unlock Resolute, a secret Trait in Remnant 2’s The Forgotten Kingdom DLC.

After starting The Forgotten Kingdom DLC, you can make your way to the Infested Abyss,, where the Root Statue will present you with a difficult choice. You can either submit to the Root or fight it. While the choice is ultimately yours, you need to know what you’re getting yourself into with either decision.

Remnant 2: Location Of the Root Statue

The Remnant 2 character found the Root Statue and must decide what to do next.

You can find the Root Statue at the end of Remnant 2‘s Infected Abyss area. The Infected Abyss can be accessed behind a waterfall in the Ancient Canopy area. Climb up the ledges near the vendor and first checkpoint –you can jump across to the ledge behind the waterfall.

Straight ahead, you will see the golden door leading to the Infected Abyss. The Root Statue is at the bottom of this Abyss. To reach the bottom, you will have to defeat three of the Root Nexus to gain access to each following area of the Infected Abyss.

These will be tough fights in which you’ll want to utilize any form of cosmetic help, such as your best Remnant 2 rings, to maintain your health. After the final Root Nexus, continue through the new area and simply follow the path until you reach a set of stairs. Head up the stairs, and you’ll see the Root Statue on your left.

Remnant 2: Should You Fight or Submit to the Root?

The Remnant 2 character is showing the rewards from both outcomes when dealing with the Root Statue.

When you approach the Root Statue, you can initiate a conversation with him. While speaking with him, he will explain his intentions, and you can choose whether you want to fight him or submit to him. Choosing to submit to him will give you the Profane Soul Stone.

However, submitting means you will be helping him with his plan to take everything over.

It’s unclear whether this will have repercussions throughout the rest of the game, and we will update accordingly as more information becomes available with either choice.

Choosing not to help the Root Statue will initiate a fight in which you must defeat him. Be sure you have useful Remnant 2 weapon mods to take him down quickly. He isn’t terribly difficult, especially compared to the previous Root Nexus, and there shouldn’t be many other enemies around to distract you. However, there will be roots that randomly reach out from the ground, trying to restrain you.

When these roots are active, he is frozen in place and immune to any damage. Be sure to keep moving to avoid getting grabbed. Attack the statue while he’s in motion and keep moving when he stops. After you defeat him, you will be given the Near-Sighted Mutator. The rewards for either choice have the following effects, and, ultimately, it all depends on which item you will benefit the most from.

  • Profane Soul Stone: Increase summon damage by 30%, summon movement speed by 15, reduce total damage reduction by 10% per active summon
  • Near-Sighted Mutator: Increases ranged damage to a long gun weapon by 10% to enemies within 7m
