Christopher Bell Earns AdventHealth 400 Pole at Kansas – Speedway Digest – Home for NASCAR News

Christopher Bell earned the pole for Sunday’s AdventHealth 400 at Kansas Speedway posting a time of 29.491 seconds / 183.107 mph. Bell, piloting the No. 20 Yahoo! Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing, scored his 11th career pole in NASCAR’s premier series and his third at the 1.5-mile Kansas oval.

“I love the high-speed places where you’re right on the verge of being wide open and not being wide open. The intermediates have been good for us,” said Bell “My team has done a really good job giving me the balance that I need in the car to be able to commit at the high-speed places. It’s a thrill like no other and I live for those qualifying moments.”

Bell enters Sunday’s Cup Series event looking to score his second Cup Series victory of the season. The Norman, Oklahoma native has three top-five and five top-10 finishes through 11 races.

“We’ve got a great starting spot and we’re in prime position to win some stage points,” Bell continued “But 267 laps is a long time and I fully believe that we can have a great race tomorrow and definitely believe I can be talking to all of you guys in 24 hours after the race too. It just all has to come together and honestly at this point, I’m not looking for a race win, guys. I’m literally looking to see the checkered flag.”

Ross Chastain starts beside Bell in the No. 1 Busch Light Chevrolet. Chastain, sitting 0.065 seconds off the pole time, has one top-five and four top-10 finishes in 2024 and chases his fifth career win.

Noah Gragson qualified third as Kyle Larson and Kyle Busch rounded out the top five.

The rest of the top 10 starters include Ty Gibbs, Austin Cindric, Michael McDowell, Chase Elliott, and Chase Briscoe.

William Byron scrubbed the wall during his qualifying lap in round one group one. Byron will start 36th on the grid as a result.

38 cars were on the weekend entry list thus no DNQs.

The AdventHealth 400 airs live on FOX Sports 1 and MRN Radio at 3:00 p.m. ET.
