Fallout 76 beats its alltime concurrent player count again on Steam

Fallout 76 has beaten its all-time concurrent player count on Steam again, just one week after previously doing it.

Following the success of Amazon‘s Fallout show, the game, which is the most recent release in the franchise, has seen a surge in players.

On Steam, the game has seen its highest player count ever, with 64,083 playing the game concurrently on Saturday (according to Steamdb). This smashes the previous record which was set only last week, at just under 40,000.

It’s worth noting that when the game was first released on PC, it was distributed through Bethesda‘s own launcher, and didn’t come to Steam until two years after release in 2020.

The game is also available on PC as part of Xbox Game Pass for PC, which means the number of players returning to the game in the wake of the success of the TV show is likely far higher than that represented by Steam.

Despite an extremely rocky launch, Fallout 76 has received constant updates in the years since it was first released. It has introduced several fan-favorite locations from the series like The Pitt.

Amazon‘s Fallout TV show will return for a second season, the company announced this week.

The buzz around the show has helped drive a massive increase in Fallout game sales, with four titles charting in the European top 10 last week.
